Explanation

Heading

This gives the time, date, course, race type, race distance and number of runners.
Selecting the details link gives details of each previous performance for each horse in the race.

Information for each horse in the race

No Racecard or Saddle-cloth number
Form Finishing position in previous races. The most recent race on the right. A number 1-9 indicates a finishing position of 1st to 9th. A 0 indicates a finishing position worse than 9th. A 'F' indicates that the horse fell. A 'P' indicates that the horse was pulled up. A '-' is used to separate the form from one season and the next.
Odds This is blank - the idea is that if you print out the ratings, you can write the betting forcast odds here.
Weight Weight in stones and pounds.
Age The age of the horse.
Draw The starting stall position. A dot after the number indicates a favourable draw.
Days The number of days since the horse last ran.
Runs The number of times the horse has run in the last 90 days.
Min The minimum rating achieved in the last 6 races.
Max The maximum rating achieved in the last 6 races.
Rating The rating allocated by the computer for this horse in this race. This rating takes in to account the conditions of the current race (like the weight and draw). So, this is really the only number you need. All of the other stuff is for information only.
**** At the end of the top line (highest rated horse) are between 0 and 5 *s. This is a rough guide as to which races are likely to be the best betting propositons (the more stars the better).
(7) The number in brackets at the end of the second line is just the difference between the top rating and the next highest rating

Note that horses which have not run before are given a rating of 0. There are often fancied horses in races that are making their debut (so are given a rating of 0). My advice is not to bet on these races.

Note that only UK and Irish form is included. Sometimes, horses which have raced in other countries (e.g. France or the UAE) race in the UK. When this happens, the ratings will not take account of this form.
